Day 1265 : Myself

liner notes:

  • Professional : Much better day today coding than yesterday. I tried to get a couple of more demo applications for this library running. Of course, one was built with React and it wouldn’t run. There was another example that was written in TypeScript. I was able to get it running, but it didn’t do anything. I think I needed another program or something running to interact with it. I just went back to the vanilla JavaScript I’ve been building and refactored it myself with the information from the library’s docs and just did trial and error. Worked on it between meetings and I got it working.. sort of. I was able to get an LLM running in the browser through a chat UI to call MCP tools also running in the Web Application to do certain tasks. With the help of AI, I was able to figure out the errors I was getting. I’ve only really started working on this 2 weeks ago and one week, I was on vacation so there’s a lot I don’t know about the technologies I’m using. I’m learning a whole lot. I was able to get a couple of MCP tools working with the in-browser LLM. The LLM would sometimes not return the data in the format that I wanted so I’ll have to look deeper into that. I may also try different LLMs to see if I can get better and more consistent results. The good news is that the proof of concept works. Going to build it out more this week.

  • Personal : Got quite a bit done last night on my Web applications. Since I can add clients from the admin dashboard application, I can now set up the client dashboard to allow people to log in. So, I got that working. I also got the orders page integrated so now I can add, edit and delete orders. I just need to hook it up to the backend. Now, there are some other things I need to think about like where I want to upload the images and videos as well as work on things like alt tags. I’m thinking I’ll use AI for that, so I need to figure out how to integrate it. My plan is to upload the media to a host, get the links and then pass them to an AI to get descriptions and save them. I used AI to prototype an application to upload media to a site that I’ve been using, so adding AI to get the alt text at the same time could work. That’s something I’ll look into this week.

A detailed astronomical image of a deep space nebula, featuring a vast field of countless stars set against swirling clouds of interstellar gas and dust in shades of blue and purple. The ethereal composition creates a sense of the immense and beautiful scale of the universe. The location is the Lagoon Nebula (Messier 8).

I kind of went down a rabbit hole just now looking into that upload application I mentioned earlier. I think I can make it work. I may work on that tonight, but I also want to work on this week’s radio show. The upload app is going to be a pretty big part of the application I’m building for clients, but I can probably do it manually for now just to get the application done and in front to clients to start using. We’ll see. I’m going to eat dinner and get to work.

Have a great night!

peace piece
